All about me. In six words.

Vijay tagged me to do a six word memoir, with an optional photo illustration and tag six others.  His own was “Aiming for accuracy in grayscale images” which is quite a good description of his work as a radiologist.

Isn’t this a great tag?  You don’t have to answer long surveys. You don’t even have to figure out which animal you look most like. You don’t have to write a long post…

I came up with a few options for a six word memoir.  The more I look at them, the more I think that I really should delete this post and forget all about the tag.  But I did agree to do the tag, so I guess I don’t have a choice. So I’d like you to take a look at my attempts and let me know which one you like best..

As for me, I cannot decide.

I blog, therefore I am… opinionated?

I can be quite funny. Maybe.

Describe myself? Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

I blog. Nobody reads. Not surprising.

I am vegetarian. I veg out.

Celebrities write memoirs. Why not me ?

Growing plants makes me patient. Outpatient.

My life, in six letters – boring.

I am not tagging anyone.  Really.

Of course, you can always decide to take up the tag, which I strongly recommend. I’d love to read your memoirs, especially since they will not exceed 6 words 😉

Or you can use the comments section to think up six word memoirs for yourself, or me, or anyone else.. just don’t say things like:

“You write nonsense. This is proof!”  🙂

Or.. “Terrible! Surely you can do better?”

  1. Thanks! Such fulsome praise is embarrassing. But you need not have hurried. Everyone is off for the weekend 😦

Bah! I am beginning to speak entirely in six word sentences. Not good.

  2. Your Descartes riff is good. Incidentally the book in which those revolutionary words appear is fiendishly dense.

One version of my six-word memoir might be: I turned fifty and began writing.

  3. BPSK: This is infectious, isn’t it? Do you want to take up the tag?

Vijay: Thanks. But if you think this is good, you should see what the other commenters are writing/ going to write… thanks for this tag, I loved doing it 🙂

The Footloose Doll: Hi! Glad you like my blog 🙂

Candadai Tirumalai: Your six word memoir is terrific!

On Descartes, as you guessed, all I know is Cogito ergo sum. Have you actually read “Principles of Philosophy”?

  4. aandthirtyeights: That goes for my blog too 😉 Good one!

Kamini: Hey, you should try! I know you have a great one up your sleeve! How about “Narrating fascinating tales from South India” or “Travel in time – through my stories”… okay, I know you can do better than my feeble attempts.

dipali: Thanks 🙂 Very touched 🙂

sandeep: That’a a great link, thanks! Some hilarious memoirs there. I loved “Not what I expected but fun” and “Frankly, it’s all about me”.

padma: I try being humble, I fail. Okay, just kidding 😉 Maybe one option for my memoirs should be “I kid too much for my good”:) I now know that you (and apparently many others) read my blog… so maybe I should change it to “I blog. People read! Very surprising.”

And BPSK, I am really not fishing, though I doubt you’ll believe me..

A Cynic in Wonderland”: Aww.. if it helps, in a few years time you will add this: “Eventually, I caught the fast train”. Trust me, it all evens out…

??!: That’s a good one! So true of my comments atleast.. I remember JFK’s quote – “Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought”. That’s me..

Kima: So many numerologists, whom to consult? 🙂

Candadai Tirumalai: I can imagine! From what I read about it, it sounds like a fascinating book. I only wish the writing styles of that time were less roundabout.

Btw, I was also very interested to find that Discourse on Method was first published in Leiden. And I thought Leiden was just a sleepy town on the way to Keukenhof..

  5. Sweet idiosyncrasies, sweeter consciousness. Settling thoughts…

That’s about this blog, not you of course. (I hardly know you are :))

  6. good stuff on this blog lekhni…enjoyed it.

My 2cents (2 attempts at 1cent each) on my memoirs.

*Thy will done. I took credit
    * simple, ordinary, normal life – how marvelous!
